Christian HORNER   |   16 November 1973   |   Director

The Director of the Red Bull Space Project, Horner was heavily involved in the automotive and business industry, as with the rest of his family. Born with a need for speed, he found his calling in management - leading to the merger of three companies, formally creating Red Bull Industries. He has a keen eye on talents! Horner was appointed Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for his services to the Aeronautical Industry.

Random Fact : You will not win a poker match against him!

Adrian NEWEY   |  26 December 1958   |  Chief Technical Officer |

The chief of the VELOCITY Section, Adrian Newey's designs are at the forefront of Aeronautical Engineering. Graduating from University of Southampton in 1980, Newey gained a first class honours degree in Aeronautics and Astronautics, and immediately after graduation, worked in motorsport for the Fittipaldi Formula 1 team, where his designs distrupted the racing scene and leaving an indelible impact. Very soon, he found himself looking for new horizons, before joining March Aerodynamics, one of the key components on merging to form Red Bull Industries. Newey's continuous design improvements are a marvel of it's own, furthering research into various other industries in the field of Aerodynamics.

Random Fact : Newey still uses drawing boards - yes, the honest pencil, paper and ruler! His ideas are envisioned on canvas before being sent off to the rest of the VELOCITY and STRUCTURAL Sections for further research and dvelopment.

Mark Alan WEBBER   |   27 August 1976   |  MA Aeronautics |

The first onboard, Mark Alan Webber was born in Queanbeyan, Australia in 1976. As he tells it, going to space was the farthest thing on mind, as from a very young age, Mark wanted to be a professional rugby player/racing driver and hold that Aussie flag high. However, a chance encounter with Professor Jack Brabham, then tenured at the University of Sydney, turned his eyes to space, and he graduated with his M.Sc. Aeronautical Engineering and joined the ASA in 20β–žβ–‰, as part of their astronaut program, before transferring permanently to the RBSP in 20β–˜β–ž .

Random Fact : He has two dogs named Sammy and Saxon.

Sebastian VETTEL   |  03 July 1987   |  PhD Astrophysics |

Sebastian has a great interest in a myriad number of things - but most of all, he has his eyes on the stars! Born in Heppenheim on 03 July 1987, Vettel graduated from the Technical University of Munich in Astronomical and Physical Geodesy, and was fast-tracked to its Ph.D program where his research on the stars with Dr. Helmut Marko received great acclaim. Shortly after, he joined the STELLARIA SECTION in RBSP in 20β–Ÿ β–˜ as one of its faculty pioneers.

Random Fact : He has many idols, but his favourite is Michael Schumacher of Formula 1 fame.

The Red Bull Space Project, or RBSP, has its roots from three different industry leaders that have worked in collaboration with each other, namely, Jaguar Industrial Materials, March Aerodynamics, and Stewart Engineering. In 2005 the three companies formed a three-way partnership to create high-performance aircraft for both private and governments alike. In 20β–™ β–ž , Stewart and March formed a merger with Jaguar to create Red Bull Industries. The company pivoted its visions to the stars in 20β–Ÿ β–˜ , beginning the Red Bull Space Project as its current and most ambitious enterprise to date.

THE PROJECT'S SECTIONS ────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────────///

RBSP is made up of four different departments, or sections, in order to achieve its goals of the extraterrestrial. In 20β–žβ–‰, the company introduced the Stellaria Section, dedicated to original research to the knowledge of outer space.

The project so far has successfully completed 4 major missions and 9 minor missions, in partnership with other space agencies around the world.
